Limits – PressKit

Limits by Money Master

Limits by Money Master is designed to help families track, and communicate about spending.  At its’ core, Limits has 3 fundamental goals:

  • Communication — Knowing how much you have left to spend is hard enough on your own – add a few family members to the mix, and it becomes almost impossible to communicate quickly and accurately without the right planning and tools.  Limits uses iCloud Sharing to seamlessly share every update you make to everyone in the family.
  • Fast, Accurate Record Keeping — The most accurate way to track your expenses is to record them as you make them – this is often easier said than done.  As Limits reaches its’ full potential, it will incorporate several different ways to record data, whether it’s through the app itself, using Siri Shortcuts, Widgets, or even taking a photo of a receipt.  Flexibility will let the user decide what’s best for them.
  • Form Habits — The key to success in personal finance is having the right habits.  Using specifically designed and configurable notifications, Limits will help the user to build the habits that will make financial success a part of their life!

Launch Plan

Limits has an ambitious vision that goes beyond one developers’ ability to work in a vacuum.  To build the right tool, I will need the help and feedback of users who are engaged, and getting value from the product, and who can help direct development to what is important.  With this in mind, my plan is to build Limits incrementally — see the road map for details: https://moneymasterapp.wordpress.com/coming-soon-limits-by-money-master/

Pricing

Pricing will follow the iterative plan described above.  Because the initial launch of Limits will not fulfill the full vision of the product, it wouldn’t be right to charge customers an amount of money that matches the eventual value of the product.  As Limits approaches that vision, however, I will be adjusting the pricing accordingly.

This innovative approach to pricing should have the effect of welcoming early adopters to the platform, and help to find those who are interested in moving the vision forward.  As Limits progresses, and the price changes accordingly, those early customers will receive these updates at no charge.

Limits is available for preorder now on the App Store for $1.99, and will be released on March 3rd, 2020.

About Me

Hi!  My name is Matt Corey, and I’ve been a developer for the last 20 years.  Only in the last few years have I started building iOS apps in my own time — mostly early mornings and weekends.  Endless thanks to my family for (mostly) putting up with it!

Limits is not my first app – you can find my others here:

The Money Master apps have been born from the processes that I’ve been using personally for years, mostly managed on spreadsheets.  I personally use them every day, and they have already proved more effective than the manual processes that inspired them.

Home Flash for HomeKit is my first entry into the Home Automation space – another passion of mine.  You can find out more about it here: https://homemadeautomation.wordpress.com
